@PappikBRT Kikopup has a video about what types of treats and what size treats she uses.
nice! what type of treats do you use in your training?
I just used this method with my dog, Fi at the threshold of the porch door. Amazing how fast it worked. In 5 minutes she would stop at the doorway without her leash on.

Would you use this same concept for boundary training?
Genius to use the step. Thanks so much for making this. I love all your training videos.. Keep them coming. Did you ever finish your series on barking? Ways to solve problem behaviours would be very welcome.
Type of dog? He’s adorable.
AWESOME training video!
Very useful, Emily!!!! Thanks for Sharing !!!!
Saludos!!!

@Cmaentz Sometimes dogs need to work for food… They are used to the scents and sight of food, but when you are like “Hey baby, food!” You give the treat a sound, which they are not used to. Food should only be seen and smelled, so you could make the dog work to get to the food. Or, you could skip a meal so the dog is hungry and then try again. Just some tips
I love love love your videos em
@Cmaentz get better food! The wetter the better is one rule of thumb; like chicken, turkey, hotdog. . .
That video is uncut, isn’t it? Great proof how fast learning can be with clicker training. He basically learned the behaviour in 3 minutes.
I will try this to teach Rayo not to step off the sidewalk when walking in front of me before I arrive beside him – a thing I’m trying to teach him for some time now with medium success.
Great vid as always, thanks! What harness is Spirit using and would you recommend it? Thanks in advance.

This is great stuff! Once question, my Bichon is not motivated by food… what can I do?
I’ve been watching these vids for some time now. I’ve seen amazing tricks and obedience training. I’ve seen a love for animals and a trust from these dogs that I couldn’t ever imagine was possible. Emily, I think you are a wonderful person. I thank you silently every day for showing me a better way of living and loving my dogs. Whenever I’m at work I refer clients to Kikopup on youtube because I believe in you. Thanks again for giving me the gift of progressive reinforcement training!
@dosdoggies that of course is supposed to read “…not to cross a painted line like on a road or parking lot…”
you could also use this technique to teach a dog not to cross a painted like on line on a road or parking lot until cued. Thanks for sharing, as always great vid!
Awesome video, as always! What kind of dog is Spirit? He’s a great looking dog and I love his name too!
What a smart pup, and a smart way to start teaching this. Thanks!
Great video! Love it!
great job Emily and Splash! enjoyed not only the always wonderful & fun training but also the footage of a previous time. ps, great minds think alike, hee hee, few days before you posted this I filmed Piglet finding fronts (formal/rally obedience version with a sit), finally making time to upload. hope all is GREAT with you! Congrats again!
))
I love Splash! <3
Lovely!
Emily, my dog gets very much worked up whenever she sees me get out the bait bag. It is very frustrating. Do have any idea of what I could do?
Splash looks so good even then lol. Nice video.
Very nice. There is no doubt a bond between canine & friend.
I made two videos on how to teach rear end awareness- the next step is simple you turn your dog in heel position so he has to side step with his back feet then take a step to your right and click side stepping. Then do it on the right side and then in front and behind. I have a video of doing side stepping using a food lure 33 secs into this video ’4 months- light switches and side stepping’, here you can see I was using a ball as a lure and when splash got it hid the ball and then no ball
This is simply adorable!
Very nice. I like your videos but I wish you would also show your viewers how ho teach a dog to do that! You sometimes promise to do so but you never do. It”s exciting to see how well trained your dogs are but if you don”t teach us how to teach our own dogs that, what”s the point? how can we learn from you?
