Why you are still not a youtube partner?
@dosdoggies I understand why you’re saying that since that’s what happeneds in most cases. Most people actually think the same when I tell them that unfortunately I’ve to keep my dog outside, but when they hear of all the things I do with my dog, how much time I spend with him and how well I take care of him they get really surprised cause they’re expecting the exact opposite e.g. my dog to be like the ones that my neighboors have who only get to see their owners when they go out to feed them.
@kensheebattousai a dog’s ears are not important on shape and what they look like. They aren’t conformation dogs and they are rescue puppies. Maybe one day you will realize that looks aren’t everything on dogs
From a pure Lab owner who has a Lab with rosette ears and not floppy
@kensheebattousai Again, why is this important? A dog is born with certain genetics. They won’t change because someone had the stupid idea to manipulate it’s appearance. Sorry but that’s some kind of show-nonsens. If you don’t like a certain way a dog is determined showing through it’s genes than don’t breed it. That’s really a no-brainer.
Appearance shouldn’t be that important in dog breeding. It should be more about character, health and work-abbilities. The staffs look healthy and happy
I see you’re using an I-Clicker instead of that other loud one you had to muffle, do you prefer the I-Clicker or are you just using that for puppies?
You always offer very nice information
I will need all the help I can get with training my new puppy in April
thank you
I should have watched this video when i got Mango. One of the first things i taught her is to give her paw
( Oops Maybe that’s why she’s almost always hyper.
Oh well, she can still learn to be calm.
@Charamia2392 I have found the opposite to be true. Most outside dogs are eager to work with people as they’re attention starved.
@kikopup I live in Finland and don’t so know the Swedish legislation, just googled a little. Their animal welfare laws looked like the ones we have here. Docking & cropping is considered illegal here too, but all kinds of treatments with glue and tape are practiced. Our show rules say that the dogs should not be modified but who can supervise it? No one and so it goes on and on. But your puppies are apparently not pure-bred and so it doesn’t matter how their ears are. And if they were, so what.
@kikopup I took a peak to Swedish animal welfare law and I think it is not directly illegal to glue or tape the ears but it is illegal to dock the tail or crop the ears or do any other surgeries withouth any good reason (like healing a disease). Using devices to make the ears set well might or might not be within the limits depending on what one think is abusive to the animal. Because abuse is forbidden. I also found forum how-tos for ear-taping so it happens.
@Belgiter Great idea
@kensheebattousai I am pretty sure that practice is Illegal in this country. They had a staffie mother and an unknown father…
good one - thanks!
Good tuto as usual! IMPORTANT: for your staffies, their ears are supposed to be folded and it’s during the first3 to 4 months that you can correct it, with special glue or just a plast. If not, they will have the falling ears as they have now, and it’s not the proper way. Then again, it might correct itself when their new teeth come out wt the cartilages growing in the ears too, but it’s better if you take the mesures yourself. Just thought u should know if u didn’t already. C ya! ^^
excellent vid
@ClickerPets Cos it could be annoying demand for play.
Thanks!
@Charamia2392 Don’t worry. I learned to train dogs on my own. I recommend watching all kikopup’s vids and making a training plan for your dog, Read books about how dogs learn and behave.
@Charamia2392 You should start house-training like you would do with a puppy. Walk him often and praise calmly when he does outdoors. When he picks up the idea you can walk him with longer intervals.
Why wouldn’t you want to teach bow as a first behavior?
Oh my gosh, all that loose skin on those puppies! They’re so gorgeous
Great advice
I think you should make a playlist on your channel for things “puppies need to know” I’m going around to watch all your videos and a lot are “needed” for the puppy but there’s so many!
Hi Emily i wants to train rticks to my little jack russell cuz she already knows good behavor but she is only 40 days old . When should ill start ?
So, now that he’s 1 year and 3 months old he has some very bad habits and I really want to train him well but like I said it’s quite difficult at this state (plus mine and my parents’ financial state doesn’t allow us to spend any money on dog trainers). Is there anything I can do after I move with him to eliminate any unwanted behavior that he has already captured and most likely I’ve also reiforced without knowing and house-train him well or is it too late and if it’s not, where do I start?
