Police Dog Training
Police dogs are an essential resource within the Police service, if trained and used effectively, they make a valuable contribution to reducing and detecting crime and disorder and help build safer communities. The training of Police dogs involves many disciplines that the handler and dog need to learn and understand to be effective as a team, supporting front line Policing. These disciplines can be categorised as patrol activity, searching for persons and property, tracking human scent/suspects, dealing with armed criminality, locating explosives, drugs, firearms, ammunition and cash.
