Why is my 6 month old puppy sleeping more than usual?
Question by Kristan: Why is my 6 month old puppy sleeping more than usual?
He normally sleeps at the end of the bed when we sleep. When we get up he is ready to play, and runs around and brings us toys constantly. today we got up (slept a normal amount of time) and now all he wants to do is lay on the couch next to me and sleep. I am having some problems today, my leg really hurts, but I didn’t think that would affect him.

I think that your puppy sleeping a little more often than usual is nothing to be worried about, all puppy’s sleep alot. From what you have said I believe that it could be a growth spurt is the dog hiccuping when it sleeps, it could be that you are lying down relaxed and the puppy is just trying to be with you and incidentally fulling asleep. If the problem persists i would ask a vet.
If I’m watching the television relaxing my 7 year old Collie will often come and sleep by me. He feels safe relaxed and comfortable.
