What should I feed a shih tzu puppy?
Question by Nicole: What should I feed a shih tzu puppy?
I just brought home my 8 week old shih tzu from my breeder last night. She gave us a small bag of Purina Puppy Chow. She eats that a little. She also gave us Purina Wet Dog Food she doesn’t seem to like that. Are these good for my puppy? We are looking for a dog food that is healthy for her growth and development. Please help me out with finding the perfect puppy food. Thanks!

puppy food, there are several brands available. You can ask one of the pet store assistants for their suggestion or you can ask a veterinarian for the best advise but its is not that big of a deal…enjoy your puppy!!
Give your answer to this question below!

1.) You could raw feed the pooch because all dogs have evolved from a wolf therefore they LOVE MEAT! Its also healthy for them when it comes to living a disease free life. PROVEN SCIENTIFICALLY (fresh veggies,raw meat, uncooked bones,including lamb or beef organs) 70% muscle meat, 15% bone, and 15% organs.
2.) Or you could torture it with that artificial doggy food crap..right c;
Hint hint :-whispers- go with CHOICE 1
EDIT:
If you dont believe me DO THE RESEARCH! also youtube.

You need to fed her what the breeder gave you for the first week then start adding in little by little what you wanna fed her over week then switch completely you can pick whatever you want to fed your dog. My puppy does not like can food at all she only likes dry food and I fed her kibbles n bits mini bites not the best food but its what she likes she didn’t like pedigree at all.
chicken
Acana, Orijen, Taste of the Wild, Wellness/CORE are some high quality foods.
Keep her on this food for at least a week or so until she is settled.
You can cause a really bad tummy by changing food at the same time as changing homes.
Look for something else by all means, but then change over gradually after a couple of weeks.
Nicole,
The puppy stage is the most important stage for growing a healthy puppy. In order to do so it’s important you provide him/her with a balanced nutritious diet. There is a a great brand of natural pet food called Horizon Pet Nutrition and they make a great small breed dry kibble called Amicus. This comes in the puppy, adult and senior weight management. The kibble is grain free and uses a pea starch which digests very well in all breeds. They also use human grade meats for protein and a probiotic in the puppy formula vital for absorbing nutrients during his/her growing stage. This line also feeds really well meaning you feed less amount and the food burns very good during digestion costing you less in the long run(always a plus). Check them out as my Chihuahua is a happy and healthy eater. Best to your new friend
