my sister’s might be getting a dachshund puppy it’s all depending on if there’s an extra puppy.i need to know some tips on like taking care of it and potty training it and stuff like that so please help me.

Dachshunds are just like any other puppy. They need food,water brushing and potty training. Put them out every 2hrs. to start

i have a dachshund and a dachshund maltese mix. dachshunds are very very well tempered and amazingly loving. they are somewhat hard to train though. my doxie still likes her crate, but does have accidents here and there my mix is worse with accidents. you just have to stay on top of them, let them out every few hours. another key point with them is their weight. my doxie is very fat lol. it is very dangerous to their health and their back. so keep a close eye on her/his diet. anything else is pretty basic as with everyother dog, but i love dachshunds and highly reccomend them.

but daschunds are small, moderate feeding, moderate grooming, moderately inactive, and moderately sociable, but they’re awesome watch dogs, and moderately difficult to train. they come in pretty much all possible colors, with evenly marked dapples. they get to about 5-9 inches tall, and 9-10 pounds. they live about 12-15 years.
