usually when they appear but by the parents you can know
about 6 months all problems should start to show. really it depends though since some dogs have like for example arthritis or eye problems when they are older and it doesnt show up when they are a pup.
depends on the hereditary disorder.
some things like deafness present themselves right away, other issues, like hip, patella, cherry eye etc can present much later, sometimes even 2-3 years.
if you bought from a reputable breeder you would know if your dog had the chance of coming down with a hereditary problem if you bought from a BYB or a puppy mill you have a better than 90% chance of your dog having a problem which may not show up until the dog is 2.
It is possible to to diagnose hereditary issues at almost any age, depending on the breed, type of health issues that breed is prone to and the age at which those specific issues are known to surface in the breed… Typically though, the most common health issues, such as hip dysplasia in larger breeds, don’t surface until after maturity, around 2 years of age… Hope this helps!!!!!!
it’s according to where you got the pup from…in my opinion purebreds that are bred by kennel club breed standards has more problems than purebreds not bred by kennel club breed standards because of all the inbreeding in kennel club breed standards…mixed is healther too…
