You have to make coming to you a good experience. Call the ferret’s name and if he takes a step closer to you, reward him with a small treat. Eventually he will associate treats with coming when called.

I call their names when I wake them up, one at a time, sonny, sonny, sonny, and I pick up sonny, close the cage and walk away while petting him. then I go back for the next, sabrina x3 and pick her up. walk around a bit with her.
When they get treats, they get told their name before I give them one. It takes a while as it does with any pet, but they’ll recognize your voice, smell, and their name in not too long. Just be positive about it. Also, this doesn’t work when they’re scattered through the house sleeping, I call it ferret-coma, they won’t wake up to anything lol.

u cant train it to come to its name but u can train it to come to you with a squeaky toy or bell by rewarding it when it comes with a treat =)
