Parakeets are not terribly bright, and I’ve never heard of clicker training being successful with any bird. If your parakeet bites, it means it wasn’t well raised from an egg, and over a long period of time it may improve, but overall, its personality has already been formed.
What do you think? Answer below!

What color do you usually wear? All of our birds have shown a preference for one color or another. They usually like their own color the best (for our birds anyway). So if your bird is yellow try wearing yellow. If your bird is green, try wearing green. Our current bird (baby a quaker) gets antsy if we wear red or blue (he is green) just like our green dusky conure who was also green. Give it a whirl and see if your bird acts differently when you wear a color like it. Also when you put your hand out, make sure you put your hand under it with your fingers extended and joined and not over it. This is a passive maneuver and would not be aggressive. Good luck. Birds are fun.
I wouldn’t waste your money.. even if it is only a few dollars. It won’t be the fix all your looking for and likely to be at the bottom of your junk drawer within a few weeks. It won’t keep you bird from biting you, and I feel it just makes training more complicated. If you want to use association training, you can click with your tongue… if you want you can whistle… or even the old fashion “good” works!
