Q&A: puppy vaccine schedule help?
Question by Zombie Daisy: puppy vaccine schedule help?
we got a puppy today, and the lady we got it from gave him his shots herself. She said he got his 5 week and then a booster at 8 weeks. He’s now 8 1/2 weeks old, and im just curious what the exact vaccine schedule is as I want to keep up-to-date on his shots. My dad can administer the shots himself as he did with our other dog, but ever vaccine chart I find online is different. There are so many diff. vaccines, I have no idea which he got. Does he get another booster at 12 weeks and then 16 weeks? Or just at 12 weeks, and of what? Im so confused.
thanks everyone. I just worry because the last puppy we had (when i was young) got parvo 2 weeks after we had it. I was so young, im not sure if it had been vaccinated yet, and i would hate for this puppy to get something like that as well.

More boosters at 12 & 16 weeks old. By 16 weeks old, he’ll need his Rabies vacc.

The puppy schedule is usually 8 weeks and then boosters at 12 and 16 weeks, with the Rabies vaccine included at 16 weeks.
I know that there is the veterinarian vaccine schedule, but I don’t trust it. The recommended vaccine schedule injects your dog with WAY too many vaccines and is damaging to their health. I know some people who never vaccinate at all. But here’s a good vaccine schedule to go by,
Parvo vaccine at 12 weeks old.
Distemper vaccine at 16 weeks old.
Rabies at 1 year.
Then rabies every three years after that, NO more vaccines other than rabies.
Use single vaccines only. Vets like to jam all the vaccines into one injection, but its better to do ONLY parvo, then ONLY distemper, and ONLY rabies. Your vet will try to vaccine them a lot more, but this is a good schedule.
Booster shots (parvo, distemper, etc.) protect a dog for 7-10 years, so why is it necessary to vaccinate boosters yearly? It’s not, vets make a lot of money out of vaccines, so they give your dog way too many of them and it is damaging to their health. Google “vaccinosis” to find out more.
Just want to say I 100% agree with Sighthounds…I’d give her 10 thumbs if I had 10 thumbs.
