Stop walking, turn around, bend down and grab his mouth and say “no” in a firm voice. As if you would if he was biting you in play.
Worked wonders with my pup
buy him/her biting toys and shoe the puppy right from wrong
Here’s an article that may be of help to you.

Hope this helps!
Push, dont kick,PUSH him out of the way with your foot and say “no”
Have a spray bottle handy with water in it. When puppy bites, spray him. You can also take an aluminum soda can & put some change in it. When puppy misbehaves shake the can at puppy. Good luck!
sigh….”yelping” will convince it it’s a GOOD game!
Get real here. You are NOT it’s littermate! Whatever sort of mutt it is.
Reach down, scruff it-pinch up a fold of skin on the back of it’s neck(that’s the scruff) & GROWL ,”NO BITE”!!
That’s what an ADULT -dog or human-does to TRAIN a pup.
Be stern when the puppy nips, and take him by the chin and say “no no!” You can use your finger to slap his snout when he does it, and you will get his attention. When you use a stern voice to say “no”, he will know you are not happy with what he is doing. Make sure you praise him lots when he is being a good dog. It takes a lot of consistency, but in time, he will stop nipping.
lol wow busy thumbs down troll today!
What you could do is when she does this, stop and stand still and ignore her, do not talk and do not give eye contact, wait until she “stops” the behavior [and she will because you will be boring] when she stops biting say good girl stop and give her a treat [you must reward the behavior the minute it happens so she makes the association so always have treats available]. She’ll learn that stopping the behavior is what gets her attention and also by saying stop she’ll associate the word with the behavior of stopping so eventually you’ll be able to say stop and she’ll respond, but if she finds that she gets no attention from biting your ankles then eventually she’ll stop doing it because it will be no fun for her. If you give attention to her while she’s biting your ankles then it’ll only reinforce the behavior and she’ll keep doing it [even saying no or shaking your leg to get her off is reinforcement and also the leg shaking is a game.] Remember that a behavior that is reinforced will be repeated a behavior that is not reinforced will stop.
I have a really great book that you would find very helpful it’s called “The Complete Idiots Guide to Positive Training” I think you might find it very handy for all sorts of situations you will come across as your dog grows up I have found it very helpful.
Good luck
i have a yorkie as well and she use to do this, she grew out of it but in the mean time while we were trying to teach her we would slide her out of the way with our feet and then pick her up (or get to her level) and say in a firm voice “NO BITING” and tap with two fingers on the nose. or you can try breaking stride, stop walking so the pup see’s its your feet, not toys.
they are little dogs, so “spanking” doesn’t work and could harm them while two finger tap on the nose gets the point across.
mine turns a year old nov. 26th and she still circles my feet when I walk in.
I know it is hard to ignore those little needles digging into your skin but if you can that is the best way. Or keep her on a leash when it is possible that way you can re direct her and after you have pulled her away give her something she is allowed to chew on…something tasty
