I live with my grandparents and my dad and they said this dog is my responsibility. I live in a nice area with a big back yard but I also dont know wether to get a electric fence or a really long runner, beacuse I heard shibas will run right through the electric fence.

OMG I wanted to get one of those dogs so bad! I think that all you need is a BIG backyard! Other than that, ummmmm……………………………………………I think I read on the internet not to put them around other dogs when you bring them in. >3
What do you think? Answer below!

These dogs can be hard to handle if not taught who’s the boss from the start. So start looking into basic handling techniques and training. Check into the breeder and see how their breeding dogs act so that you will get an idea of how your puppy will act. A large backyard is great for this kind of dog it needs Plenty of excercise.
Good luck on your new puppy!
Temperament
A spirited boldness, a good nature, and an unaffected forthrightness, which together yield dignity and natural beauty. The Shiba has an independent nature and can be reserved toward strangers but is loyal and affectionate to those who earn his respect. At times aggressive toward other dogs, the Shiba is always under the control of his handler. Any aggression toward handler or judge or any overt shyness must be severely penalized
13 and getting a dog like a Shiba Inu for the first ever dog? Wow, good luck. They need a very confident and dominant owner who will teach them all they need to know. They can be very strong willed and will definitely need training and socialization. All I can say is good luck. Do NOT get an electric fence! If you don’t already have a securely fenced in yard, a Shiba Inu won’t be a good choice.
