like to go potty outside or to just live outside? If you’re talking about going to the bathroom. go outside with the dog and say something like “go potty” if/when it does go praise it and take it back inside and wait two hours so there is a very good chance it will go again. If it insists on going inside try putting it in a crate because the dog will think the crate is its bed and wont want to soil it. Keep it in the crate for a few hours and take it outside hopefully it should have to go potty by then because its been holding it. so praise it when it does. When it goes inside (if u catch it in the act) put it outside right after or during if it stops going long enough for you to take it out. and leave it outside for about 5 minutes. Beatin it for goin inside doesn’t always work :\ usually the best you can do is just clean it up.

Lock it outside for an hour then let him in then do the drill again but whenever he is outside try and throw a bone for him))
Keep bringing him outside like every 2 hours and weight until he goes.Pretty soon he will get usto it and cry when he needs to go.Good luck with your new baby.
puppy pads are brilliant! you initially put them where they usually go and keep inching them to the door until they’re actually outside the door. If you keep a close eye on your dog you’ll quickly learn when it’s looking to ‘go’. Then you take him outside and mollycoddle him for ages after he’s gone outside
Put his food down 3 times a day , at the same time every day. When he is finished eating take him outside and stay with him, walk around dont stand in one place because he will just stay with you. He will soon learn that you arent going to leave him. When he is finished pick him up and praise him.
I have a mini dachshund. They are stubborn by nature but the best thing I did was train him to ring a bell when he needs to go out. It did not take long at all. I simply took some Chritmas bells and hung them around the back door and when it was time to go out I would make him ring them first. When he did his thing outside I would praise him and immediately give him a treat when he came back in. It worked great, just be consistent that is key. Now he rings the bell whenever he needs to go and never has any accidents.
