all puppies should have beds, my yorkies never hurt their beds, they have been pretty good about it, I know there are some other breeds that do tear them apart. If you keep a lot of toys in with him she may leave the bed alone. You can buy cheap beds for around 10.00 and no be out to much. If you decide that you do not, go to the thrift stores and buy some small quilts, they are cheap and can be thrown away if they get to damaged. Puppy does not something soft to sleep on and keep warm they are close to the ground and it is cold there. especially if they are on the ground. Also a create with a bed in it, might be ok too. she may leave it alone if it is in the create. I would leave the door open so she can just sleep in it at night.
I suggest that you should buy your pup the plastic/trampoline beds because if it was a cushion one, it would rip it up just as my dog did when he was still a puppy.
I went through 2 beds in 1 week with my puppy recently. He throws temper tantrums when we put him away at bedtime. My trainer said to just give him towels or blankets until he gets past the teething stage. Right now he just had surgery so we made him a nice bed with blankets and pillows and he’s fine with it and not tearing it up. I’d get her a bed and see how she acts with it. If she tears it up, show her the mess, tell her “wrong” or “no” in a scolding manner (which most dogs understand…..mine however, doesn’t) and then get her another. If she tears that one up, do as my trainer says and don’t get her another until she gets a little older.

Wait until your dog is about 9 months before getting a bed. i suggest a blanket on the floor until then.
Yes you must buy it a bed.Maybe a cheap but comfortable bed. Don’t buy anything expensive as it may chew.
