Question by Heather: I need training tips for my lab? I have a 3 month old lab pup that i need to train.I know how to handle sit,stay,ect.But I need to know if there is a way to stop his bitting. He is teething and always chews on my jeans or whenever i go to pet him he staarts chewing on me.I also need to know what i should do if he bites my lamb and how to walk on a leash.

Take him to puppy school at petsmart. They’re great and can teach your dog everything. I would start using the word “AH-AH” every time he bites. You say this while removing your pants and hands from him. It really works. Also, get him some teething toys that he can chew on. A great one is KONG. It’s very durable and you can put snacks or peanut butter in them, and he’ll be entertained for hours. When it comes to walking on a leash, you just have to have patience. Find a snack that he really likes. Make him sit on your left or right side, make sure it’s the same side every time, show him the snack, take a step with your left foot and say “lets go” and right after that when you step with your right foot say “heal” all this while keeping his attention with the snack. Then keep telling him “yes, yes, yes” as you walk for maybe 50 feet. Stop, have him sit next to you, then praise him and give him a bite of the snack. Start out with walking in a straight line and once he gets that, you can switch over to walking in circles and around corners. He’ll catch on really quick. Laps are really smart dogs.
