I need some puppy training help.?
Question by kpitcox: I need some puppy training help.?
I have an 11 week old Bullmastiff boxer mix puppy and she is hyper.
She is potty trained and she doesn’t bite anymore but I need help on trying to teach her not to jump anymore. I’m trying alot of things but it’s not working. And plus I want her to stop trying to barge in my house when I open the back door she tries to run in. I do let her in the house, but I want her to back up from the door when I open it or something like that.
Any tips on how to do that?

When she jumps, say “off” and turn your back and do not pet her. Once she gets down and has all 4′s on the ground, then give her attention or even a treat. Tell this to anyone who comes into the house. The dog should never be pet while jumping.
As for coming inside, I would step outside first and grab the collar of the dog. This way the dog does not storm into the house, you have control

I would find your local training club and enroll in puppy classes. It’s really important that she be socialized with lots of ppl and dogs especially since she’ll probably be over 100lbs. They’ll help you come up with a game plan for training. In the mean time every time she jumps on you calmly say off cross your arms and turn away from her and don’t acknowledge her till she is sitting.
