You don’t say where you live? Have a look at www.APDT.co.uk, and make sure that you speak with the trainer, and that they use reward based methods, and are able to explain to you how that works.

I don’t know how well-trained your street’s pooches are, but the rest of you wish will never happen while you expect OTHER people to train your dog for you.
The training is YOUR responsibility. Assuming you are a suitable owner, your pet has a REASON to want to please you – but why should it please a stranger, except to avoid punishment?
YOU should be in a proper training club’s classes as of when Pup is 18-22 weeks old. Initially (the manners-training and learning-to-learn stage) it doesn’t matter which type of competition that club aims at, but the level of opposition in all types of competition is nowadays so high that once you decide WHAT type of competition you want to team with your pet in (Agility, Companion-Utility Trials, Coursing, Field Trials for Gundogs, Field Trials for Hounds, Herding Collie-style, Herding GSD style, Jumpers, Obedience Tests, Protection Dog, Rally-O, Tracking) you need to practise in the appropriate type of club.
In the first group below, click Links => Kennel_Clubs then the name of your country to find out how to contact your nation’s one official KC and what training clubs it recognises in your area.
◙ Add http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/The_GSD_Source to your browser’s Bookmarks or Favorites so that you can easily look up such as rescue groups, feeding, vaccinations, worming, clubs, neutering, diseases, genetics.
◙ To ask about your pet, join some of the YahooGroups dedicated to various aspects of living with them. If you don’t know how, click my group’s link then, near the top of the page, in the field saying [Search for other groups], type the real name of your pet’s breed. (As he’s a cross-breed, either search for the one he is most like, or do separate Searches for each breed. remember that there are THREE sizes of Poodle.)
Each group’s Home page tells you which aspects they like to discuss, and how active they are. Unlike YA, they are set up so that you can have an ongoing discussion with follow-up questions for clarification. Most allow you to include photos in your messages.

Cesar Millan, I swear he is officially the best trainer ever, he’s a miracle worker but he only helps people who are suffering with their dog. You can call him and you will have to pay a fee though, because he is very popular and he will not do your dog for free because it hasn’t got any problems.
Dude that’s a completely wrong attitude for a dog owner to have. Competitions are just for fun you can’t expect your dog to win the competitions for you, just because you never won for your own! I suggest you take an online Dog Training Program may be from http://www.pupdogtraining.com/
But try and train your dog on your own with all the love and affection that he needs. You will be more proud if he wins the competition with your style of training.
high goals and YOU can blow the ambition with a mistake in the ring just as easliy as the dog! look for the clubs doing the trials on AKC http://www.akc.org/events/search/ and yous them for refferals.
