I hope you have kept the vaccine cold, as it is ruined if allowed to get warm..

The vaccine your “breeder” gave at 6 weeks is useless because the puppy would still have sufficient antibodies from nursing that would have destroyed this vaccine. Your vet gave a vaccine at 8 weeks which was fine. I, personally, like to wait 4 weeks in between vaccines and believe 8, 12 and 16 weeks is the most appropriate. Your vet is going to want to give another combo vaccine in another 3 weeks since the puppy is only 11 weeks now and probably even another at 17 weeks since vaccines are suppose to be carried out until a minimum of 16 weeks (some even say 20 weeks).
I don’t believe in giving the rabies at the same time as the combo vaccine to minimize any reactions. I believe in waiting 3 or 4 weeks between them, but I breed very small Yorkies who are probably more likely to experience bad reactions. It is good that your vet waits at least a week though and is doing what is in the best interest of your dog.
By the time your puppy is four months old he/she would normally have 3-4 dhlpp (depending on the vet), two bordetella vaccinations, and a rabies vaccination. Normallyy between the ages of 6 weeks to four months is when these series of shots are given. Different vets have different opinions on the frequency of vaccinations. Perhaps call around to some different veterinarians and see how often they recommend vaccinating and reference that to what your vet is telling you. NEVER buy vaccinations from a feed store or on line. Unless you are trained properly by a professional, you shouldn’t be giving your pet vaccinations. You can insert the needle wrong and hurt the pet, or if your pet flinches and you don’t get all the vaccine in, your pet won’t be fully protected.

6weeks of age puppies need the DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parafluinza, and parvo)
After the first exam and shot they need another set every 3-4 weeks. Consisting of 3 exams.. Depending on when you received the 1st vaccine.
9weeks- 2nd DHPP and 1st Leptospirosis added
12 weeks- 3rd DHPP, 2nd Lepto, and Rabies added.
Bordetella (Kennel cough vaccine) is given twice as well. Only if going to be boarded or staying at the groomers.
This is how we give vaccines here in Texas. Rabies can be given at any age after 12 weeks old.
