Answer by Dakota Dog Call petsmart and ask them. The classes are “puppy kindergarden” and they teach the basics as far as showing owners how to walk the dog on a lead, getting puppy used to different places and sounds, but nothing beyond that. There’s no housebreaking included in the training.

Good for you for wanting to get your puppy off to a good start! I think the cost varies with the area. In mine, it is $ 120 for 6 classes. Just call and they will tell you. It does not include potty training, but if you have a good trainer, they might be able to give you some tips. The problem with PetSmart is some of the trainers are very good and some are not. Also, some classes have 20 pups and you will spend most of your time waiting. Ideally, a class should have no more than six. Before signing your puppy up, find out how much experience the trainer has and ask for references. A good trainer will not mind giving you this info. They will require that you have proof that your pup has had all of her shots, including rabies. They will allow the whole family to come to classes so everyone will know how to train her in the same way and she won’t get confused. If you get a good trainer, practice A LOT at home, and everyone in the household is consistent with how they are training her, the classes work very well. Best of luck with your puppy!
Please do your research before settling on department store training. For the same price you should be able to find an experienced trainer who can really help you get that ‘good’ dog you want.

Call and ask. As for potty training that is done at home and at home only.

It is around $ 100 or more, keep in mind though many pet smart trainers have no experience or training them selves
Plenty of good books on training. Why not save your money. You are smart enough to read and apply what you learn to your dog.

Potty training is included in the puppy curriculum at PetSmart. The prices vary by area, so you will need to call and ask.
