You have one problem dog, wth do you need a puppy for? Regardless, get help from a professional.
Too often owners believe they know what they’re talking about and what to do because “Joe Blow” told them what to do, but they’re wrong and often make the matter worse.
Time with a professional is a well spent investment.
Why would you get another dog whan your first dog is aressive
You can’t “train” aggression out of a dog, but you can work to contain it and manage the behavior. However you need a professional behaviorist – not a sit/stay trainer but someone that deals with behavior and behavior modification – to help you.
The general pet owner (or basic obedience trainer) won’t know enough to be able to deal with outright aggression. You need someone who can evaluate, diagnose, and show you multiple means of dealing with or correcting unwanted behaviors. “Dealing with” does not mean tossing treats at the dog and begging it to behave – in this case “dealing with” means addressing and correcting. Not something that should be done without professional help. Period.
A behaviorist will be able to tell you if the dog’s behavior is genetic or if it’s learned. A behaviorist will be able to tell you if your dog is “curable” or if this will be a lifelong struggle. A behaviorist will show you how to handle this dog, correct behaviors, and the proper way of “praising” wanted behaviors at the proper times.
You are NOT going to be getting a puppy any time soon with this kind of animal in the home. Period. End of.
My dog Is very aggressive and…I get treats and when it good or whatever give it a treat also send it to its bed or cage teach it ticks So when it is being aggressive make it Sit or lay…-.- Not shure it that’s what you wanted…
A dog’s aggression problems are often BECAUSE of the owner and the failure of that owner to stop it before it started.
All that would happen if you get another puppy is the high possibility of TWO aggressive dogs.
Forget it unless you learn how to deal with this dog first.
What is your dog agressive towards?
food? toys? other dogs? children? humans? cats?
Start from there and research what can be done.
I started off with a dog that had fear aggression and would bite any male that made direct eye contact with him. The people of YA told me to get rid of him, which is NEVER an option. If you get a dog you have to stick through the thick and the thin with it.
I started training him to do various things to keep his mind active, jumping through hula hoops to working with horses with me, I gave him a secure environment not a party house with lots of people coming around, I gave him lots of love and attention, but never hit him or disaplined him for being bad besides a firm NO. Even though I warn strangers to let him warm up to them before they try to get any kisses, he is pretty trust worthy and gives a fair number of warning signs before he bites so I can catch it.
allot of people say this is crazy but the best way to get a dog under control is to act like one your self if it is a very aggressive dog be more care full. i have had allot of diffrent breeds like pittbulls and other big dogs show the dog ur teeth growl and use deep voice make it learn that every thing around is yours not its. this might sound mean and curl but if it growls of snaps at a person be careful grab by the neck pin to ground and hover over showing ur teeth and growl after all this is what they do 2 each other it how they let other dogs know. feeding is very important don’t just put food down and walk away make it sit or wait till it sits then put food down if it tries to get it pick it back up (be careful some try to bite) and repeat till it waits till u walk away to eat or u tell it it can have it. just remember you are master not the dog. i done this to all mine along with of training now i don’t even have to say a word i use hand signs and they obey i never hit any in any way treat a dog like a dog and it will listen
Aggression in a dog is often applied to behaviors which are anything but & all the dog needs is to be clearly taught what behavior is acceptable in the household, so it can choose to have an easy life because it knows what is expected of it & can avoid a correction with compliant behavior.
A dog needs to be provided with leadership & by that I mean an owner who projects calm authority & is someone the dog will look up to & follow, & rules, boundaries, being taught good manners, & obedience training which is consistently practiced so is learns commands & that they will be enforced with absolute consistency.
The one thing that you cannot change is a dog’s core genetic temperament. If your dog is dog aggressive that is something that a decent dog trainer can teach you how to reliably supress, but the instinct would still be there, so if that is the case it would be unwise to purchase a second dog.
Contact your nearest schutzhund club & ask for the name of a decent dog trainer who would be able to evaluate your dog’s temperament, be realistic in what you could achieve with the dog, & then teach you how to train your dog if you decided to keep it.
So your dog is giving you a hard time I know how feel. The only dog training course that worked for us was the academy course it took a few weeks. It was better than the local school and a lot less money. And the whole family has a lot more fun now. I hope this helps.
