dOG tRICKS???
Question by agility4lyf: dOG tRICKS???
I have been trying to train my border collie to do some tricks, but she just doesn’t seem to get it!!
i look on the internet for how to train her the tricks, and have been trying for a while now.
I have tryed paw, crawl, beg, bow, and wave, but she only understands crawl(and that is only just!!), (she also knows how to spin left and right, but that was just taught for agility.)
she is normally a very quick, and willing learner, but she just looks at me with, a very cute, but confused look on her face!!!
do you have any tips for helping her, and any other tricks she might understand easier?
Rob i reward her with sausage, and dont have any turkey, and have taught her sit, and lie down, but that isnt really a trick
cretzu- i do that anyways!!

reward her with turkey.sit, lay down speak.
What do you think? Answer below!

Try saying ‘paw’ and pulling his/her paw for 4-5 seconds then releasing it. Wait a bit then do it again. Try this several times and then try saying ‘paw’ again and s/he might do it.
Try this with other tricks, just forcing him/her to do that trick but gently.
We have a fun trick.
Whenever she sneezes, you relpy with a larger sneeze.
Eventually, it will become a game and everytime you sneeze she will sneeze and you both will be bouncing around sneezing, all the while looking like a total ass.
It’s fun.
Teach her 1 trick at a time. do it over and over until she gets it right. if she does it right , reward her with ” Good Girl!”, and a treat of either a dog biscuit, or dog jerky. also, some times it helps to show her what she should do, like if your trying to teach her to sit, you should go ” Sit (her name)” and then you sit like a dog. when she sees your behavior, she will probably do what you do. also, if a god is older that 1 years old, it is harder to teach them new things. make sure you start training her as soon as possible.
also i would try to start with simpler tircks such as:
Sit
Speak
Lie Down
and Role Over.
Hope this Helps!
