Can I get a qualification in dog psychology?
Question by Obsessive-badger: Can I get a qualification in dog psychology?
I have been interested in Canine Psychology for as long as I can remember, and eventually i would like to set up a ‘centre’ as such where i am able to practice dog psychology and build up a portfolio of clients etc.
Locally, i’ve had a fair few people asking me for advice on their dogs etc and how can they stop certain behaviours and such just through word of mouth that “there’s a girl who’s good with dog just round the corner”
However, to eventually start practicing properly later on, would i need a qualification?
Also what sort of qualifications are available in Canine Psychology? I’ve talked to some people who’ve suggested courses with or without a qualification at the end, and some other people who say that that qualification doesn’t exist at all and i’ve ended up very confused.
I’m soon going to be studying a Bsc in Biology in which i’ll be able to take a couple of modules in anmal behaviour but i’d also like something a bit more specific and i’d like some advice.
