you can start training as early as 6 weeks, the younger the better
3 months is NOT to young, its the perfect age, if you wait till they are much older, depending on the breed they will become headstrong and set in their ways and it will be harder to train. the pup is still young enough and also obedience school such as petsmart’s classes help with obedience and common commands and with socialization. so feel free to sign your pup up now. You can actually start training at about 8 weeks of age, so just jump in and start the training, you will be greatful you did early. expecially if its a larger breed IE: Boxer, Pit. Labrador, Rott, things like that. you don’t want to be pulled down the road when your walking your full grown adult dog.
You should start the moment they come home with training. After they have had all their shots they can leave the house for obedience school.
As long as allshots are up to date, it’s fine to take them to obedience classes. I started taking my Lab when he was about 3 1/2 months and he did great. Usually, the younger the better. It’s easier to correct bad habits that haven’t truly been formed yet. Good luck!
well i suppose you could take him with 3 month’s but i would wait for at least on till he is 4-5 month’s
Usually after the 2nd vaccination your puppy can start training in these classes.
Three months is a bit young– a lot of places won’t take them until they’re 5 or 6 mos old. You can go ahead and work with him a bit on simple commands like sit, and get him used to a leash.
No 3 months is not too young. They do require that the pup is up to date with his shots and has his rabies shot.
Thank you for being a responsible pet owner.
As soon as possible
3 mths is the perfect time to go to puppy kindergarten. Make sure he has had at least the 2nd set of shots.
At 3 months, I would recommend a puppy socialization class. After 6 months, you can do regular obedience. The place I went put us in regular obedience because my dog was 6 months and 3 days old – over the 6 month puppy socialization class limit. Well, for the first 4 sessions, she wouldn’t concentrate on the training because she just wanted to play with the other dogs. I would certainly get your puppy used to being around other dogs before you try to train it in room with other dogs – too distracting.
