Don’t limit your search to “Michael Ellis”. He didn’t invent his techniques and they are the same techniques used by many modern, well informed trainers who aren’t aware of who he is. As an example, I train almost identically to him, have the same philosophy and many of the same training methods. find some good “Positive” style trainers in your area and ask if you can sit in on a first class. You should know real fast. My first class runs for over 2 hours. It’s all people and no dogs. We cover a TON of things about marking, rewards, dog psychology etc. Watch some of Ellis’ videos if you haven’t already ( http://leerburg.com/stream/videolistcat.php?cat=Michael%20Ellis) and use that to compare to what you see in those sit in’s. A good place to start locating the right kind of trainers would be the IACP web site at http://www.canineprofessionals.com
