I’m goingto buy a GermanSepherd First Dog! We are going to buy him 8 Weeks old. And wanted to knw if they are Trouble makers FOr example if they will scrath my leather Sofas or scratch thing’s around? Are they messy? Another question can A Person that works at pets mart tty train my Dog ?

If you don’t know anything about German Shepherds please don’t get one!!!
German Shepherds shed like crazy!! I vacuum every day of the week. They are very pack oriented and will have terrible separation anxiety if not properly trained. Their nails can get long and scratch furniture. They are a sneaky, intelligent breed that will try to get away with things they are not supposed to do. They must be taken to obedience classes no doubt about that. They must be properly socialized. PetSmart offers puppy classes which are a great idea.
If you do not have time for this wonderful breed of dogs then yes, you will have a disaster on your hands. Dogs need boundaries and rules. Lots of love and affection and most importantly discipline and exercise.
Maybe look for another dog breed like a lab or golden retriever.

All puppies are destructive and messy, you have to TEACH them not to be. It sounds like you are not at all ready to have a puppy so I suggest getting several puppy training books and start reading like crazy. Puppies need constant supervision and consistent training and it’s going to be really hard if you haven’t got a single clue of what you are doing.

Please, PLEASE do your research! Any puppy will be messy. All dogs have different personalities… Petsmart and petco have obedience classes… It’s your job to make what a dog is, you have to train them!

Puppies will scratch at things, so if you are worried about your sofa and other things getting scratches, don’t get a dog, or put a cover on the sofa. Puppies also like to chew, furniture, rugs, clothes, shoes etc. Be prepared to correct this and provide lots of different chew toys. You have to house train puppies, so yes, expect some messes. Messes from potty training and messes from chewing things. Puppies love to shred paper!! Also be prepared for lots of shedding!
Have you researched the breed? I would reccomend a professional dog trainer for any large dominate breed. German Shepards are great dogs but I always reccomend getting a professional breeder for dogs with this much power (a trainer that is knowledgeable and comfortable with dominate breeds).
puppies may chew your entire sofa whilst you are out let alone scratch your sofa and that is not just GSD’s all pups make a mess they are pups it is what they do until you train them and that takes time, you have to go to obedience classes with your dog as it is more about training you how to handle the dog rather than the dog being trained, learn more about the breed you should not go out and obtain a dog on a whim, the dog is the one who suffers from your mistake in the end if you are not prepared to put up with what owning a dog involves imagine those big wet muddy paws running around your home
